Revisiting hobbies.

Years back, painting, sketching – were my own ways to relax and meditate. I would spend hours doing the same. When I grew up and went to pursue graduation, the time I gave for my hobbies declined exponentially. I forgot that it made me relieve my stress and made me even more energetic to work hard and succeed. Sitting tensed and idle was not my cup of tea. Yesterday, when I came back home I thought what was the thing that made me happy and cheerful always? I came back with a answer- my hobbies. I used spend long time in loud music and a hobby, which in turn, kept me cheerful and energetic to work (study, in those days) all day long. My score as a teenager was far better than today. I went on developing my qualities, then how come my score declined? The reason was before me – mental stability was hampered, so did my concentration and ability to cope up. The teenager me would easily survive the competition today. And I decided to revisit all my hobbies.

The main purpose of a bobby is to derive pleasure out of it. It gives us mental and physical relaxation. Today, when I look back, I realize that I never had had to make a choice out of many ways of spending time. As a child, my parents encouraged me for everything whether I later developed it or not. Music, painting, skating, reading variety of books, philately, swimming, badminton , coin-collection, travelling, photography, writing essays/poetry and what not. It was them whom I dedicate all the awards as well as appreciation for drawings, essay writing, handwriting competitions etc. Hobbies play an important role in developing one’s personality. A hobby keeps a person active, busy and cheerful. In the long run, you will benefit from it, they used to say. Their constant hammering for developing good hobbies indeed made me a better person today. Each one of us should choose a worthwhile hobby that give us change and joy.
